Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for conducting straightforward land work to include obtaining and evaluating land data on availability of land and/or leases for acquisition, development, and/or divestiture. May work with more senior level Landmen to secure the examinations of titles, resolves defects, settles damage claims and maintaining producing leases and co-owner relationships. Uses established procedures to perform assigned tasks.

• Obtains right-of-way easements for overhead or underground use
• Checks property titles to determine ownership, negotiates easements and price to be paid, prepares assessments, and arranges payment to grantor
• Assists in land acquisition by obtaining land options
• Maintains permits and inspects completed work
• May coordinate acquisition activities with municipalities, governmental and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with acquisition and easement requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years industry experience working with title opinions and title curative
• Solid grasp of oil and gas title fundamentals
• Familiarity with lease terms, JOAs, C/As, Fed
• Unit agreements and other standard industry agreements
• Strong oral and writing aptitude
• CPL preferred
