Oxy Williston currently
has a need for an HES Specialist to support our operations in North
Dakota. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to
fill the position of Health, Environmental and Safety (HES) Specialist
within the Oxy HES Department. The individual will be a key contributor
to the team effort in achieving the safety program goals of zero
accidents, reduction of lost time incidents, proper reporting of
environmental spills or release events and compliance with Federal,
State, Local regulations and company polices and guidelines.
Position Responsibilities:
- Safety oversight for operations and contractors.
- Report all accidents / near misses to Line Managers and Supervisors
and prepare initial incident reports for submittal into HES databases.
- Assist Line Managers and Supervisors to motivate and coordinate
emergency preparedness plans, drills and exercises, and assess and
report performance.
- Provide emergency team support, leadership and training and participate as required.
Advise
and assist Line Managers, Supervisors and Contractor Safety
Representatives to ensure operations, practices and conditions are
within Company policies, procedures and performance standards.
- Recommend, coordinate, and conduct audits to assess the status of worker field safety and industrial health programs.
- Implementation of the safe work systems including; confined space, LOTO and Hot work.
- Provide safety orientation and other training to contractors.
- Support the Behavior-Based Safety program by performing task observations.
- Use of current HES databases to input and track HES action items until completed.
- Co-operate with internal and external audit groups and assists as required.
- Participate/Lead in accident/incident investigations as requested
- Conduct HES Safety Meeting and or training as needed.
- Ensures contractor quality and compliance through use of audits and
inspections of contractor's/supplier HES programs and implementation.
- Participates in contractor safety meetings.
- Provide support for the timely reporting of spills, flares and other
environmental events both to appropriate regulatory agencies and
internally as required by Oxy policies.
- Assist in the coordination of environmental clean up and remediation efforts.
