Dispatcher Location: Tioga and Williston -  Description JOB FUNCTION

 

Power Fuels is seeking a full-time position for a truck dispatcher. Truck dispatchers are planners and communicators. They are responsible for coordinating delivery schedules and keeping track of the progress of deliveries. Dispatchers stay in continual contact with customers and truck drivers to ensure that deliveries safely reach their destinations on time. As a dispatcher, constant critical decisions are needed to be made throughout the day. They review requests from and requirements of customers and determine what types trucks are needed to make certain deliveries, which drivers pick up which products, and which routes drivers should take. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assigning drivers and trucks Calculating and optimizing load weights appropriate to the type of truck Reviewing shipping reports for accuracy Maintaining work orders, service requests, inventory records, expense records, and other documents, and filing them appropriately Keeping information about master and alternative trucking routes up-to-date Helping customers, company personnel, and drivers resolve problems Arranging for safety inspections to be performed on trucks Coordinating repairs for trucks between shipping assignments Document all calls into the log book Keep dispatch records/logs and status reports Monitor traffic conditions and redirect drivers to avoid delays Handle emergency calls from drivers immediately contacting appropriate police, fire, or other emergency agencies Understand the fleet assigned including available trucks, fluid capacity, well production rates, weight restrictions, equipment ability, range, etc. Coordinate with shop personnel to ensure assigned equipment is scheduled as required for maintenance Review driver paperwork for accuracy PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to multi-task, handling many drivers at the same time Ready to make decisions quickly and keep track of several trucks simultaneously Keep control information updated at all times Knowledgeable about the geographic area in the respective area Expertise at reading maps and determining the shortest or fastest routes Possess strong computer knowledge and skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to learn and utilize the available technology Maintain a positive attitude Ability to work as a member of a team Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, or holidays Excellence customer service skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma/G.E.D.
