Overview:

This position is within the Operations Construction group of the Bakken Asset.  The successful candidate will provide technical support for construction and production teams through focused efforts on data collection and analysis.  The position will also provide operational support through focused efforts on construction schedule, permitting and regulatory review and confirmation.

 

Effective teamwork is required by the individual as information is gathered and communicated between many components of the organization.  Due to the operation's high activity level, the candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently. 

 

A demonstrated commitment to HES&S standards and policies is a must for the candidate filling this position.
Responsibilities:
  • Promote and support a culture where safety and environmental compliance is top priority among contractors and Marathon employees. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Promote a positive and constructive workplace. Interact with other team members in a manner that will help build respect and achieve set goals.
  • Assist the Construction Superintendent in assembling bid packages and ensuring proper regulatory permits and documentation are received in the field prior to start of construction activity.
  • Assist the Construction Superintendent with review of the drilling and completion schedules to ensure adequate resources are in place to complete civil and mechanical construction in accordance with the Plan of Development.
  • Help reach construction goals by utilizing weekly work reports to feed information into the construction timeline using Microsoft Project.  Participating in work reviews with field supervisors, engineers, and production supervisors.
  • Assist in the planning process for winter snow removal and road maintenance.  Will include assembling of maps and information to ensure compliance with our Storm Water Management Plan and Surface use Agreements.  Will have to work with HES professionals and the Land Department to update existing documentation as the development expands.
  • Assist in the planning process for well location reclamation.
  • Participate in spend optimization in the areas of construction and procurement review.
  • Supports projects by gathering, formatting, and analyzing engineering and operational information from internal and external sources.
  • Creates project records and databases including well diagrams, schedules, installation reports and lessons learned. Monitors project performance metrics in order to compare actual versus forecast data and reports variances.
  • Leverage peers and technical resources to develop and maintain relationships to further support the Bakken asset. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
